Burt Brothers Tire and Service Wins the 2021 Tire Review Top Shop Award

Burt Brothers, a local Salt Lake City tire and service shop, is the winner of the 2021 Tire Review Top Shop Award. The judging panel praised Burt Brothers on their remarkable customer service, digital focused convenience features, innovative marketing campaigns, and the heart they have for giving back to their community. 

Burt Brothers, who has been an Acima partner since 2016, was selected as the winner from among 3 other finalists at the Top Shop event in Nashville.. In 2020, Burt Brothers was among 4 nominees and declared the runner up, so securing the win this year was a cherry on top! The award was accepted by co-owners Jake and Jason Burt on behalf of the family ownership team and their 15 locations around the Salt Lake area. “Sometimes you can believe your own lies, but for us it was major validation,” Jason said. “We tell our employees we are the best and that’s why we hire the best, so it was major validation to hear someone else believed that about us. Our morals are in the right direction and we are living up to our mission statement!”

Doing It Better

Customer Service is of the utmost importance to Burt Brothers Tire & Service. Every level in the organization goes through an extensive training program on how to take care of the customer. The training not only covers sales calls, but goes deeper into developing service advisors as top-notch sales professionals who consistently deliver exceptional customer service. “We train top to bottom because everyone is a part of making that experience great for the customer,” Jason said. “What is making me do an oil change better than the guys down the street? It’s no longer about the price, it’s now about taking care of the customer.” When 75% of the customers they service per day are repeat customers, it’s apparent their customer service is top notch.

Employee Appreciation

Since their opening, Burt Brothers has always put an emphasis on valuing their employees. From their extensive training program to regular check-in meetings, Burt Brothers strives to set all their employees up for success. The Top Notch award proves that their employees want to work hard so the organization can succeed and grow. “The employees were stoked,” Jason said. “They were sharing it on their social media and were pretty dang excited to be a part of the team.”

One thing the Burt Brothers team prides themselves on is the fact when Covid hit they didn’t have to lay anyone off. They actually had to hire employees to keep up with demand. “It was trying times, but we worked through it and made it work for our business and our employees,” Jason said. 

Giving Back

Burt Brothers continues to be a part of each and every community in which they serve. With fifteen locations along the Wasatch Mountains, their footprint has grown and their ability to make a difference has too. “We want to build that relationship with the customers and we feel we can do that by building the community we reside in,” said Jason. 

Each year, the Burt Brothers team acknowledges amazing teachers in the local community for their excellence and service in educating children. Each year multiple teachers are nominated and the top 3 runner-up teachers get all supplies for their classroom paid for. The top teacher nominated receives a 2 year prepaid lease on a vehicle! Burt Brothers thanks all the teachers who work so hard to educate the youth in their community.

As the Holiday season rolls around, Burt Brothers has a tradition of participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. In twelve of the Burt Brothers locations, they bring in Angel Trees where customers can Adopt-an-Angel in their store. They love seeing the names of the children and families, and it makes them grateful for what they have and even more driven to do it better for the community they serve.
